In November 2006, The William King Memorial Flute Band took part in Northern Ireland Band Associations Melody and Grade 4 contests.
The test pieces selected were Holyrood for the Melody section, and Avondale for the Grade 4 section.
The band were delighted to come in first place in both sections, especially
as we were competing against other excellent bands in the Ballycoan FB and Ballymacarrett
Defenders FB. An added achievement from our performance that day was to be awarded
Performance of the Day, a special achievement as we were the first Grade Four\Melody
band to do so in the contests history.

The links below are recordings of our live performances that day.
We are pleased to announce that we will be taking part in this years Flute
Band Association competition in February. The band will also be travelling
to Glasgow to take part in the Black Skull's annual competition on the 24th
March. We look forward to playing and catching up with our good friends in
Scotland.
